It is in this land of a wild and calm beauty, where nature and tranquility merge, that the Herdade da Comporta wines are produced. The sandy soil and unique climate of the region, tempered by the proximity of the ocean, are unequaled conditions for the cultivation of this wine grape.
Good wines, landscape protection and respect for the environment are just some of the dimensions of an activity that is increasingly a factor of tourist attraction and cultural practice.
Herdade da Comporta wines are the fruit of a commitment to a modern and daring wine project, where cutting-edge technologies project the traditionalism of the winemaking process in mechanized wineries. Of recognized quality, they have been awarded in several international competitions.
The vineyard was planted in “Bacelo bravo” in 2001 and grafted in the following year, being 2003 its first year of production.
Of particular note are the red varieties Aragonez, Trincadeira, Alicante Bouschet and Touriga Franca, and the white varieties Arinto and Antão Vaz.
