Casa Baía

The Casa da Baía – Tourism Promotion Center, inaugurated on May 7, 2011, provides services for the promotion, dissemination and commercialization of reference products of the Municipality, such as cheese, wine and sweets, and catering areas.
It includes a vinous area, with a wine cellar where 36 producers from the region are represented, able to receive specialized events of this economic activity, and a gourmet shop with traditional cheese and confectionery.
In the space also an exhibition gallery, with temporary exhibitions of municipal responsibility, a multipurpose auditorium, a meeting room and spaces for the confraternities of the Cheese of Azeitão and the Moscatel of Setúbal, for the Bay Association of Setúbal and for tourist promoters, Besides several rooms of support.
The House of the Bay, authentic living room of the region of Setúbal, also integrates the Municipal Tourist Office, with service areas and an administrative support area.
The Cloisters, an area now completely covered, functions as a winter garden, a space dedicated to moments of socializing and leisure, conducive to small cultural events.
Outdoors, in one of the outer zones that integrate the property, was created another area of leisure and spectacles, which, through the glass floor, allows to observe archaeological remains discovered on the spot during the preparation phase of the works. Some of these findings are exhibited in a museum nucleus created for this purpose.
The creation of the House of the Bay also allowed the refunctionalization of a building from the first half of the 18th century and classified as Municipal Heritage.
