Quinta do Lago

Quinta do Lago Laranjal
Elected the Best Golf Course in Portugal in 2011 by Publituris, this incredible par 72 was inaugurated in 2009 as the new Jewel of the Algarve. The old Laranjal do Ludo – about 2 km from Quinta do Lago – was transformed by the Portuguese architect Jorge Santana da Silva into a unique golf experience at the highest level.
Fairways marked by the natural undulating terrain are interrupted by bunkers and lakes, and surrounded by orange trees, avocado trees and pine trees.
With a total of 6,480 meters, the course requires concentration and skill, rewarding the golfer with a golf experience at the highest level. Five pairs 5, 8 pairs 4 and five pairs 3, seeded with Bermuda on the fairways and Penn A4 on the greens, guarantee the best putting surfaces in the country and one of the best golf experiences in Europe.
Quinta do Lago Norte
Campo Norte is the newest course of Quinta do Lago with a total renovation and one of the most talked about golf projects in 2014 throughout Europe. Quinta do Lago Norte is one of the new stars of European golf and the new field number one in Quinta do Lago.
All greens, tees, bunkers, irrigation and drainage systems have been rebuilt using state-of-the-art technologies. Multiple tees of exit were included in each hole in the sense of guaranteeing the experience to players of all levels.
A short lawn of the Bermuda species was placed around the greens in order to create various shots for the players. The aesthetics of the field have also been improved by laying a long lawn of the species “Eragostis curvula” known as “Weeping Lovegrass” which helps to “frame” the field that will create new habitats for indigenous species. To add to this fact, in the next 5 years plants will be more than 1000 tame pines and 500 cork oaks.
Quinta to Lago Sul
The “jewel of the crown” of Quinta do Lago, the South received the Open of Portugal in no less than eight occasions. Designed by William Mitchell in 1974, this par 72 brought to Portugal a quality of Golf hitherto unknown. American-style greens, bunkers and tees quickly gained a reputation and the course became one of the most important golf courses in Europe and is still the field of choice for many European Tour players.
Overlooking the Ria Formosa Natural Park, Quinta do Lago Sul stretches over 6,500 meters between lakes, pine trees and wild flowers.
