Countless Lives - Introducing Fernando Pessoa Arts and Cultural Travel in Lisbon Fernando Pessoa, Portugal's most celebrated modernist poet, is now considered to be amongst the greatest literary figures of the 20th century. Before setting off to tour the city, or at the end of a day spent visiting its streets and monuments, visitors can enjoy a quiet interlude to become acquainted with this remarkable poet. Countless Lives is a performance of his poems, a brief account of his life and the fascinating story of his four major heteronyms. The poems are in English translation. The event lasts approximately an hour and can be organised at a variety of locations in Lisbon. Amanda Booth is an English voice actor and translator living in Lisbon. She has performed in number of plays by or about Fernando Pessoa, both in the UK and Portugal, as well as performing readings of Pessoa's translated works and English poems at a variety of venues in Lisbon.
